Gruet Blanc de Noirs Brut NV

Gruet Blanc de Noirs Brut NV

Gruet Winery is located in Engle, New Mexico, near Truth or Consequences. The Pinot Noir for this sparkler was grown at altitude where cool night temperatures slow the maturation process of the grapes.

This wine exhibits a very light salmon color, lots of bubbles, a fruity aroma (apple and raspberry), with toast and citrus on the palate.

At approx. $14.99 retail, this is something different to enjoy in an American bubbly, and the price is reasonable.

I am so happy New York is getting recognition but Virginia is making huge strides. I recently moved from Aspen Co. to Charlottesville,Va and work for Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard. The sparkling we do is sold out always!! It is on many list everywhere. This part of the world is very exciting for wine now.

Picked up a split of blanc de noir today at Whole Foods and have to say that it's one of the most delightful American bubbling wines wines I've tasted. It stirs up images of summer swings in old apple trees, strawberries and lemonade. What a pleasure!
