Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2004

This wild white is on our Wine List these days, due to the current great price, and the really good vintage.  Today's bottle is typical of recently opened ones.  It is very crisp, dry, but lively with lots of aromatic fruit and acidity.  The grapes come from low-yielding vines.  Plus, it has a screw cap!

Harvey Steiman of Wine Spectator's assessment: "Smart Buy. 91 Points. Explosively aromatic, brimming with spice, herb and peppery character, surprisingly docile in the mouth, with lovely pear, apple, melon and mineral flavors that linger enticingly. Impeccably balanced. Drink now. 60,000 cases made." -October 15, 2004

Spectator suggests $17, but the Nashville price is about $13.99, so this is a bargain!
