Gunderloch Jean-Baptiste Riesling Kabinett 2003
This is a Rheinhessen Kabinett, with 11% alcohol listed on the label. A fruit tart! A very well made expression of a German Riesling, mostly dry with just a little residual sugar. The nose is full of apricots and cold blossoms. The palate is citrusy tart and just a little bit sweet, with noticeable minerality. The wine finishes clean and lively. The closure is a screw cap. At $19 (Nashville), yes this wine is worth it, a modern styled, well made Rheinhessen Kabinett. We tasted it Sunday around Brunch time, but without food. |
