Cline California Zinfandel 2004 was made from fruit sourced primarily from Contra Costa County near Oakley, and Lodi. The average vine age is reportedly 50 years, with many of the Oakley vines being head-pruned. Some lightly toasted new French oak is used in the aging.
| There is a small amount of residual sugar and 14% alcohol in the finished blend. Charlie Tsegeletos is Winemaker.
Tasting Notes. Color: Bright candy apple red. Raspberry fruit aromas dominate this light-bodied, easy drinking Zin. Dusty and vanilla oak characters play quiet supporting roles. The flavors are "simply red", fruit-forward, built on a lean, somewhat tart frame, with light tannins. Finish is clean and quick. Closure: Real cork. Very nice value ($10). Food pairing: Delicious with a big, nice quality hamburger. |
