Meridian Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2004

Meridian* Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2004 has been released a while, but this new label just arrived, mid-vintage. Santa Barbara Chard is Meridian's most popular wine.

Meridian Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2004 Consistent with the house style and winemaking approach, this vintage likely saw barrel fermentation, some malolactic fermentation and aging in French and American oak barrels. Signe Zoller is Winemaker.

Tasting Notes:  Color: Light golden straw. Lightly smoky peach, pear and lemon aromas combine with hints of baking spices. There is a nice round body here, with tart mouthwatering tree fruit and citrus flavors that turn slightly buttery. Oak spice flavors evolve in the clean dry finish.

Closure: Real cork.

Excellent value ($8.50).

*Meridian Vineyards is owned by Beringer Blass Wine Estates.
