Rosenblum Cellars Paso Robles Zinfandel 2004
Rosenblum Appellation Series Paso Robles Zinfandel 2004 is a blend of 86% Zinfandel, 7% Carignane, 5% Petite Sirah, and 2% Syrah. The grapes were sourced from Estancia Vineyards (east side of the Salinas River) and San Marcos Creek Vineyard (west side of Salinas River). Both vineyards are rocky, gravelly and sandy.
Vinification was 12 months in half French and half American oak barrels. 88.5 points. Color: Bright purple ruby, translucent. Aromas: Plum, cherry, cassia/spice, cocoa, citrus peel, and hints of smoke and gravel/earth. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, somewhat sweet front-palate, with lightly tart and peppery mild tannins. Plummy raspberry and cherry flavors lead to a warm savory finish. Closure: Artificial composite cork. Retail: $19. Food Pairing: Buffalo Chili. Production: 9000 cases. |
