Rutherford Ranch Chardonnay 2004 is "blended with other white varietals for increased structure". The grapes were sourced from all over the Napa Valley appellation. Aging was in French and American oak. 87 points. Color: Light lemon gold. Aromas: Ripe tree fruit (peach, apricot, pear) and oak spice, plus hints of buttery toasted nuts. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, mildly tart, with mid-palate sweetness. Yellow delicious apple and pear flavors mingle with lemony citrus and oaky spice, leading to a fleshy, lightly sweet-ish finish. Closure: Artificial composite cork. Retail: $14. |
