Cline Cellars White Truck White 2004

A very good maker of affordable wines is Cline. Their ten-buck White Truck blend is another "no-brainer", like their similarly priced California '04 Zin and '03 Syrah recently reviewed by Winewaves.

White truck '04 is a great barbecue and pool wine.

The blend is 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Pinot Grigio, 10% Viognier and 10% Chardonnay. The Sauvignon Blanc is from Sonoma, and the Pinot Grigio and Viognier are from Sacramento Valley. The vinification was all stainless steel. Production: 20,000+ cases.

Tasting Notes.  Color: Light golden straw, slightly greenish. Aromas: Melon, gooseberry, orange. White Truck is light-bodied, round, juicy and tart. Peach and grapefruit flavors finish crisp and clean.

Closure: Real cork.

Excellent value ($10).
