Bitch Barossa Grenache 2004
The back label says "bitch" 77 times, followed by "some more". It is left up to you to decide what that means, because the sentiment would be appropriate for many contemporary situations. Whatever inspired it, thank goodness it arrived, because it is better than a box of chocolates.
Note added Jan. 2, 2007: The Bitch 2005 has been released and reviewed by Winewaves.
Dan Philips is working with grower David Hickinbotham and winemaker Chris Ringland to bring this 100% Grenache from Barossa to the market.
Tasting Notes: Color: Ruby, translucent. Aromas: Raspberry, cherry and chocolate and a hint of spice. On the tongue, the wine feels warm without being heavy, despite the hefty 14.7% alcohol, and is dry without being drying. The lush fruit and chocolate flavors finish very smoothly. This one is easy without being uninteresting.
Closure: Screw cap. Outstanding value ($9).
Winewaves recently reviewed Dan Philip's Marquis-Philips Shiraz 2004, produced from the now defunct partnership between Dan and Sparky & Sarah Marquis.

I would like to purchase a case or so. How would I go about doing this without an account?
Please let me know.
Thank You, Jodi

I opened a 2005 Bitch for the first time tonight. When I bought it, at Cental Market in Southlake, TX, I thought they may have pushed it because of the attention getting name. This is NOT a "gimicky" Grenache. While I paid a bit more at $14, I found it to be well worth the price and certainly will not be the last bottle bought.

i am looking to purchase Bitch wine for a wedding shower party favor and was wondering if you sell them in little bottles. If so, where do I order them. I love this wine. My best friend who is getting married who'd love this.
Thanks

Hi Marin -
If I could sell this wine I'd be doing very well, but unfortunately Winewaves is not allowed to sell wine due to the restrictive laws of Tennessee. Also, to my knowledge the importer, Grateful Palate has not done a bottling of "splits" - although it would be a brilliant move! Good idea! To wind up this comment, I must say that the supply of Bitch is dwindling down in most places, so good luck! -Jerry/Winewaves

When I first saw this, I thought, "How brilliant! And what an attention getter!" Even if the wine is bad, you have a great label to display. I started looking around for it and had zero luck. Then I mentioned it to my sister, who told me one of her co-workers had a bottle of it sitting on her desk at work! The store she had purchased it at was sold out too. Bummer. But all is not lost...I just happened to be visiting a friend last week and she happened to have two bottles sitting in her wine rack. She sold me one! I now have a 2004 Bitch Grenache. I can't wait to drink it!

P.S. I happened to be searching online for it, and I did find the 2005 Bitch Grenache on www.napacabs.com. They sell it for those of you who can't find it in the store but can have wine shipped to your state.
