Meridian Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

Certainly one of the best bargains around in an under-$10 Cab, Meridian California Cab 2003 is solid and middle-of-the-road as the name suggests.  Last year, Meridian* Vineyards re-launched their wines with new labels painted by Patrick McFarlin, the Sante Fe painter, to help communicate a modern casual yet uncomplicated image.

Meridian Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

Tasting Notes: Color: Deep dark ruby, somewhat opaque.  Aromas: Cherry, cassis liqueur, cocoa, oaky spice and hints of menthol.  Medium-bodied, with mild to moderate tannins and tart acidity, the citrusy and deep cherry flavors are well-balanced in the dry soft finish.

Outstanding value ($9).  Closure: Real cork.  Alcohol content: 13.8%.
