Red Guitar Navarra Old Vine 2005
Constellation Brands has introduced Red Guitar, a blend of 55% Tempranillo and 45% Garnacha from Navarra Spain, and it is off to a good start in Nashville. Tempranillo and Garnacha (grenache) may not be as well known as Cab and Merlot, but Spanish reds are gaining in popularity.

In order to communicate that this is one of those hot new wines from Spain, C Brands plays on the fact that the guitar originated in Spain, employing a "Miro inspired" image on the label.
Interest in Spanish reds has been building due to the efforts of modern importers Jorge Ordoñez and Eric Solomon. For years they have individually specialized in bringing new fruit-forward high-alcohol Spanish reds to our market.
Tasting Notes: Color: Deep purple ruby translucent. Aromas: Sour cherry and grape, a bit candy-like, with dried fruit notes and hints of spicy vanilla. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and rustic with gravelly tannins. The fruit flavors are well extracted and jammy and the finish is warm and dry.
Excellent value ($8). Closure: Real cork. Alcohol content: 14%.
Food pairing: Chili (no beans) and Fritos.

We just tasted Red Guitar Navarra and liked it a lot. For the price, it's a novel and tasty blend.

I think that red wine or white, its all depends on personal choice and wine quality. For me quality is more important. Most of the time I choose to drink red wine and either one is good for health also. I am not that keen on ice wine but I don’t mind. Also, check this page that is all about the wine red topic http://www.wine-expert-101.com/Wine-Red.php

I agree with the Box Wine Guy. The Red Guitar Navarra is a great wine at any price.

I received red guitar wine as a gift and I totally love it. I am a guitar player and I also enjoy the story and image that goes along with this wine. I have one question: Where can I get more? Please advise where is is distributed so I can buy more!

I recently tried this wine at a wine tasting Bridal Shower...Loved it! I'm usually not a fan of red wines but this one won me over! I'll definately buy it and have it again. I'm telling my friends all about it too.

I received this wine as a house warming gift and I think it's absolutely fabulous! I normally am not a red wine drinker but this is so smooth; very good. Will definitely buy it again.

My wife picked this wine up simply because of the name. I play the guitar so she thought it was "cute". Well......damn good!!!. Red Guitar is a very good wine.

I normally have a cold beer- not much of a wine person...until I bought a bottle of Red Guitar. Now after a long day at the office, relaxing at home, a glass of Red Guitar has become my first choice. Love it! I've only found it at one store though. Hopefully it will be available at other places soon.

2005 Red Guitar
Was it supposed to be fizzy? It was like a sparkling red, but nothing I read about it said that was intentional.
Thanks,
Bette

I love this wine, too--but a couple of times I've bought it, it has been fizzy, and the taste is much different. A little scary.

It's Kim again...Still lovin'the red guitar...but I've broken three wine bottle openers(on seperate occasions) trying to get the cork out...one cheap back up opener & two more expensive ones. The wine is great- and the corks are very, very protective- maybe over-protective?

Kim, I had the same problem. That cork was really IN THERE, hard to get out. Loved the wine though!

My cute, young nieces from Atlanta were down here at the beach and introduced me to Rose. They said that's what the French drink on the beach in the summer, so I said, "Let's drink some!" I discovered Red Guitar and just love it. It gets really hot on the GA coast in the summer, and this is the perfect sipping wine for beach or pool.
