Peirano Estate Lodi The Other Red 2005
With a body that's soft and round and full in all the right places, she offers up her fruit in a rather seductive fashion. This predominately Syrah is naked like the female on the label, unencumbered by disguise, proudly showing off her assets.

Wonder why, once you have one bottle, you find yourself coming back for more? Maybe you're looking for the other side of that mysteriously seductive and surprisingly complex (for the price) personality.
Peirano Estates The Other Red is a blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Petite Sirah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, but the blend comes across tasting more of Lodi the place, or even Cigales Spain (I'm thinking about La Legua Tempranillo for example) than like a glass of typical Syrah.
Tasting Notes: Appearance: Candy apple red, translucent. Aromas: Raisins, dried black cherry, plum, cinnamon graham crackers and coffee. Medium-to-full-bodied and coming across sweet on the front of the palate, the tannins are not wimpy thus providing counterbalance, and there's a nice citrus sort of tartness to lift it all. Peppercorn-tinged raisins, dried cherry, tobacco and sweet oak spice resolve to a satisfying dusty finish that lasts.
Excellent value ($12). Closure: Real cork. Alcohol content: 13.8%.
Gary Vaynerchuck of Wine Library TV found himself seduced when he tasted The Other 2004.
Pairing: Drink it one-on one, naked, or with something a bit spicy.

Great label and write-up. I think it was the Wine Enthusiast survey that said erotic labels turn some buyers off, but I think this one is tasteful and clever.

I just ordered this from Wine Library. And here's the weird thing--mine is also a 2005 but the blend is different. It's 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Syrah. Can anyone shed some light on why my bottle is different than the one above???

Just thought I'd clarify on the above comment. I e-mailed Wine Library and at first they were a little stumped by my inquiry. Then they e-mailed me back and said they contacted the powers that be and that two versions of this wine are out there for 2005! So--I got the version above. Looks like it may need to be reviewed. Hope you guys can look into it and review it soon. I'll let you know what I think of it when I finally open it. Being a big Cabernet fan, I'm sure it'll be GREAT!!

Thank You Grace for unearthing this interesting fact. I am looking for the Cab-heavy version to compare with the Syrah-heavy version.
